Midway RCMP have identified “persons of interest” in a recent string of Greenwood burglaries, according to Cpl. Phil Peters.
Police are investigating a robbery at Greenwood’s South Gold Storage facility Saturday, Oct. 10, where thieves stole a side-by-side and an expensive cruiser bicycle. Mounties are also investigating the Nov. 7 theft of roughly $30,000 worth of dirt bikes from a rural property west of the city.

“We have a pretty good idea who’s doing these break and and enters,” Peters told mayor and council at Greenwood’s McArthur Centre Monday, Nov. 23.
Mounties have identified suspects believed to be part of a theft and distribution “ring” that runs stolen property from Greenwood and surrounding areas to Oliver, Osoyoos and Okanagan Falls, Peters said.
Peters said Midway RCMP are sharing information about their on-going investigations with other detachments across the Boundary.
Peters asked residents who came to Monday’s council meeting to report all suspicious activity to police.
“Without the proper information, we can’t do our job.” Peters encouraged residents to report information anonymously through the BC Crime Stoppers hot-line.
“We can sit there and look at these guys and know that they’re the ones that did a break and enter, but I can’t arrest these guys until I have evidence to say that, ‘Yes, that guy did this. And he currently has that piece of equipment, or whatever, on his property — and it has to be a visual.’ Somebody has to have a visual and tell us that they’ve seen it.”
Midway RCMP has recovered the bicycle stolen from South Gold Storage and one of the dirt bikes stolen on Nov. 7, Peters said.
