The RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance as they investigate an alleged assault that may have included a racial component.

On the evening of July 25, officers responded to a reported fight at the Entrance Bay area of Cultus Lake, where two men were alleged to have physically and verbally assaulted a woman of colour and her two teenaged children.

During the alleged assault, a group of men allegedly directed a number of racial slurs toward the family, said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail. The two teenage children were transported to hospital, treated for injuries and later released.

The investigation continues, and RCMP are now looking for anyone who witnessed the incident or recorded it on a phone or dash cam.

Entrance Bay was crowded and investigators believe the incident would have drawn attention,” Rail said.

Anyone with information is asked to phone 604-792-4611.
