Wake up call

A pair of patrons in a cab were awoken by officers on March 4 around 2 a.m. A taxi driver picked up two apparently sleepy people downtown for the trip to Brentwood Bay. The driver called police to wake up the passengers and get them home.

 

 

Bad driving

Odd driving captured the attention of an officer on patrol on March 7 around 1 p.m.

The officer noticed the vehicle on the highway and followed it, pulling the driver over in the 1800 block of Mount Newton X Road. The Brentwood Bay man driving showed signs of impairment, and after a roadside screening was issued a 90-day immediate roadside suspension and 30-day vehicle impoundment dictated by a ‘fail’. Police drove the man home.

 

 

Firearms call

Police are recommending charges after a report of youths discharging a pellet gun.

Central Saanich Police were called to the 7000 block of Wallace Drive around 5:30 p.m. on March 8 and seized a pellet gun. Charges are pending for discharging a firearm in an unauthorized area.
