Vernon RCMP believe a Thursday night BX home invasion was a targeted act.
Police report three or possibly four people entered a residence in the 7500 block of L&A Road just after 6 p.m. and tied up three occupants of the home.
“The occupants were a mother, her son and a man who rents a basement suite,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
Three registered handguns were stolen from the house during this home invasion.
One of the three occupants, a 48-year-old man, was injured during the home invasion. He was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital with head, arm and leg injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
The woman and the tenant were not injured.
The description of the suspects is that all were wearing bellaclavas and dark clothing, and all were believed to be men.
One is described as a Caucasian, six-foot-one and weighs about 190-pounds with fair hair and about one-to-two weeks growth of beard. The second male is about five-foot-seven and of Asian descent.
Molendyk does not believe Thursday’s incident is related to an incident last week off of Westside Road.
In that case, a lone man brandishing a handgun kicked his way into a house looking for a grow operation, of which there wasn’t one at the house.
Anybody with any information in relation to the home invasion on L&A Road Thursday is asked to call the RCMP at 250-545-7171, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
