Surrey RCMP are seeking witnesses to a traffic accident Saturday evening in Surrey City Centre which claimed the life of a 69-year-old man.
Police received a report of the accident at approximately 5 p.m. on Dec. 3. A Toyota Tundra travelling southbound on 140 Street stuck a pedestrian in the 9300-block.
Police, paramedics and firefighters attended the scene. The man was transported to hospital, where he died.
The driver of the Toyota Tundra remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The incident remains under investigation, but alcohol has been ruled out. It was raining heavily at the time of the accident.
