At approximately 1:11 p.m. on Aug. 26, RCMP and 100 Mile Traffic Services attended a scene where a man reported as suicidal barricaded himself at a residence on Grey Crescent, according to a news release on Aug. 27.
Multiple members attended the scene in an attempt to secure the address and ensure neighbourhood notifications were quickly completed as soon as possible.
The event ended with one male exiting the house after a short negotiation by phone and apprehended under the Mental Health Act of BC. All firearms related to the incident have been secured by the RCMP.
Local neighbours were also notified by police and there is no further risk to the public at this time.
