Creston RCMP responded to 63 calls for service from April 16-22, including several issues involving dogs, Staff Sgt. Ryan Currie said on Monday.
April 16
• Tools were reported stolen from a work truck parked at a hotel in Creston.
• Suspects are facing charges in Nelson after police received a report of suspicious people and a possible break and enter in Sirdar. They were reported to be on the ferry and also face charges relating to other thefts in the area.
April 17
• Police investigated the theft of a vehicle in Creston.
• Harassing communications from a disgruntled bill payer were reported.
• An unknown male was reported to have entered a Creston residence, and a TV cable box was possibly stolen.
• Harassment via social media stemming from a disagreement was reported.
• A shoplifting at a local business was investigated.
• A report of an aggressive dog in a vehicle in Creston was reported to the Town of Creston bylaw officer.
• Police intervened in a neighbours’ dispute over an aggressive dog.
April 18
• When a vehicle was stopped in West Creston the drinking driver was given a 24-hour driving prohibition.
• Snake eyes or boxcars? Police were called to an alcohol-fueled dispute that broke into a fight during a game of Yahtzee.
• A profane note was left on a vehicle parked at a local business, with a complaint about the victim’s parking. The vehicle was also intentionally damaged.
• Police referred a report about possible cruelty to an animal to the Town bylaw department and the SPCA.
April 19
• When police responded to a family disturbance involving threats one person was arrested and held in cells because he was both on probation and the subject of an arrest warrant.
April 20
• Nothing was stolen during a possible break and enter to a residence.
• A neighbours’ dispute in Kingsgate arose from dogs running free.
• A report of a stolen dog in Erickson was erroneous. The dog was placed in a kennel after it got free of its owner.
• After receiving a report of an attempted theft of a vehicle in Creston, RCMP advise people to lock doors.
• Another report (following one in recent weeks) about a suspicious light on Mount Thompson was determined to be a communications tower.
• An intoxicated male was reported to be urinating on a Lister roadside and taken into custody until sober.
April 21
• Police were called to a disturbance by an intoxicated male yelling outside a residence. After being offered a night in police cells the male complied by going back inside.
• Police investigated a complaint of a drone flying in Creston.
• Police were called about a fight outside a Creston business.
April 22
• Nothing was damaged or taken in a possible break and enter to a trailer in Boswell.
•Police were called to a civil dispute in Crawford Bay.
•A reported possibly impaired driver was not located.
