A fire in a Driediger Farms caused extensive damage to a production warehouse on Sunday morning.
The fire was called into Langley Township firefighters just before 5 a.m., said assistant fire chief Monty Armstrong.
Firefighters ran a tanker shuttle to the location in a rural area north of 72nd Avenue while they fought to contain what Armstrong called a challenging fire.
It took a while for firefighters to get inside the metal-clad building.
“It was mostly internal damage,” Armstrong said.
Despite the exterior of the building being metal, there was combustible material inside, including wood and furniture.
Crews were on scene most of the day Sunday dealing with hot spots in the large structure. On Monday, investigators were combing the building to attempt to determine the cause, but had not yet isolated it.
