Power outage in South Surrey and White Rock

More than 3,000 customers impacted

UPDATE: The power was restored at approximately 11:20 a.m.

BC Hydro says more than 3,000 customers are without power in South Surrey and White Rock.

Power went out at 10:44 a.m., the cause of the outage is under investigation.

The outage extends north of Roper Avenue, east of 146 Street, south of 21B Avenue and west of 154 Street.

Around noon, power lines were also reportedly down at 156 Street and 16 Avenue, with crews on the scene. One witness told Peace Arch News police had blocked off the area to traffic shortly after 12:30 p.m.
