Power has been restored to about 11,000 homes and businesses in downtown Victoria this morning (Nov. 28).
B.C. Hydro crews worked to address a problem at a downtown hydro substation that caused the 10-minute power outage, Ted Olynyk, B.C. Hydro’s Vancouver Island community relations manager, said, though he could not provide details on the problem.
Victoria police issued a warning for motorists to use caution when approaching intersections on Bay Street, Cook Street and Pandora Avenue where traffic lights were out, due to the power failure.
