Power restored to parts of Chilliwack

Power has been restored to a large swath of Chilliwack, including parts of downtown, following an early morning outage Monday.

The power, which went out around 5:30 a.m., was back on just before 8 a.m.

The cause of the outage is under investigation.

It’s unclear if this latest outage is related to the mudslide that took down power lines along Highway 1 near Bridal Falls.

A tiny pocket near Herrling Island is still without power following the slide that took place on Wednesday night.
