An Armstrong zoning amendment application will go to public hearing.
McLeery Ranch, a property located in the 3200 block of Fraser Road, has applied to the city to amend the property from the current country residential zone to single family residential and multiple unit residential zones.
The goal is to subdivide the property to create 12 residential lots (two single family dwelling lots and 10 half-duplex lots).
“It’s a continuation of what we’ve been doing in that area,” said Coun. Paul Britton, council’s planning and development chairperson.
Council gave first two readings to the application Monday.
The public hearing will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. in council chambers.
Council also approved a development permit application to allow construction of a two-storey automotive repair/commercial building with residential suite in the 3000 block of Smith Drive.
“The plan looks very good and it conforms with what’s on Smith Drive,” said Britton.
The permit will be withheld until the city is provided with security in the amount equal to 125 per cent of the estimated cost of on-site and off-site improvements to grading, drainage, paving, pavement markings and landscapings.
All estimates must be prepared by qualified contractors.
