It was a fruitful pizza run.
Qualicum Beach’s Harold MacDougall thought he was just going out to get a pizza, but instead returned home with a Casino Royale II scratch-and-win ticket worth $75,000.
The Qualicum Beach resident purchased the ticket at Qualicum Foods on Memorial Avenue and was at home when he scratched the ticket.
“The first thing that crossed my mind was that it wasn’t real,” said MacDougall. “It’s a nice feeling to win.”

The first person he shared the fantastic news with was his partner and then a good friend.
“I called my friend Mike, who didn’t believe me at first. He had to call back and check with my partner to make sure it was true.”
MacDougall plans to put his prize towards a few trips: Cape Breton and Scotland to visit family once it is safe to travel.
