Quesnel female pushed to ground, RCMP seeking information

A female was pushed to the ground, but managed to flee her assailant early Wednesday morning.

A female was pushed to the ground, but managed to flee her assailant early Wednesday morning.

Around, 3:30 a.m. Oct. 10, Quesnel RCMP were called to the 900 block of Abbott Drive after a female in her twenties reported that she had been pushed to the ground by an unknown male suspect.

The female was walking alone on the pathway which leads to the Renaissance Apartment building when she was approached by a male who pushed her to the ground.

The female responded by screaming loudly and  punching the suspect who then fled on foot down Abbott Drive.

The intent of the suspect is still unclear.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male who appeared to be in his 20s or 30s, approximately 5 foot 11 inches tall, approximately 180 pounds, with a strong square jaw and a deep voice.

The suspect may have been wearing a long sleeved grey shirt or jacket at the time of the assault.

Anyone who may have heard or seen anything during the early morning hours of Oct 10 in the 900 block of Abbott Drive, call Quesnel RCMP immediately 250-992-9211.

RCMP would like to remind the public to exercise caution when walking late at night.

Walk with a friend or in groups. Stick to well lit and well traveled routes. Be aware of your surroundings. Report any suspicious activity to the RCMP immediately.
