With the good news of B.C. lifting its state of emergency, readers might be interested in hearing about the remaining fires and the work that is being done to fight them.
Thirty seven fires are still active across the Cariboo Fire Centre and 12 have been called out since Tuesday.

In the Quesnel Fire Zone there are still seven active wildfires burning. Two are being held, two are under control and three are listed as out of control.
Fires of note in the Baezaeko Complex remain much the same.
The North Baezaeko Fire, which is about 85 kilometres west of Quesnel is still listed at 13,433 hectares in size, 70 per cent of which is guarded, meaning there is a fuel free zone around 70 per cent of the fire. BC Wildfire Service also says the blaze is 50 per cent contained.
A total of 123 firefighters (up from 92 on Tuesday) are battling the fire with 19 pieces of heavy equipment (down from 27) and the shared use of six helicopters. (down from 10)
BC Wildfire Service says patrols will be carried out on the guard perimeter in the northwest fire sector and planned ignitions will be carried out in the southwest fire sector if conditions are suitable.
Danger tree assessments and danger tree felling will be carried out along the 6600 Road and equipment will be demobilized where it is no longer required.
In addition, crews will contain and secure north of Blackwater River eastwards towards Poplar Mountain as well as continue to secure the south side of the Blackwater River to 6600 road.
Containment will also be carried out south of 6600 road and north of 6700 road.
The Blackwater River Fire is located east of Blackwater River near Nazko. The 8,277.5 ha fire remains 100 per cent guarded and 60 per cent contained.
The team fighting the blaze is made up of 60 firefighters (up from 54 on Tuesday), four pieces of heavy equipment (down from five on Tuesday) and the aforementioned choppers.
Unit crews will mop-up along the southwest guard today.
Mop-up will also continue in areas with hotspots identified by thermal scanning, working from north to south and along the Nazko River.
An aerial assessment of the northern fire flank, in modified response, will be conducted at least once per day.
The Shag Creek Fire, located north of Itcha Ilgachuz Park is mapped at0 12,322 ha in size, which has been the case since August 30. It is still 0 per cent contained but is being monitored by air.

BC Wildfire is no longer updating the Narcosli Creek Fire as it is no longer considered a Fire of Note. As of September 4 is was listed at 4,636 ha in size, 100 per cent guarded and 90 per cent contained.
