An event that was supposed to celebrate Quesnel’s projects and accomplishments through the COVID-19 pandemic has been postponed due to an uptick of cases.

The city of Quesnel announced the Let’s Connect Tour, set for Sept. 18 has been postponed until “a future date.”

A special newsletter will be mailed to Quesnel residents featuring the projects that were planned to be a part of the tour.

Another event set for mid-September, the Quesnel and District Seniors’ Society free breakfast, was also postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.

A new online engagement tool the city was supposed to be launched on the day of the tour will be released this fall.

“Our residents’ feedback is an important part of city decision-making, planning and project implementation, and we are looking forward to connecting with residents through this new online tool,” Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson said in a news release.
