Rain and wet snow causing slushy, slippery roads in Penticton

Wet snow has been falling since the afternoon

Wet snow is causing slippery driving conditions.

Wet snow has been falling in the South Okanagan since about 2 p.m., causing slippery driving conditions on Highway 97 and upper level roads.

It’s mostly slushy conditions along the highway with full snowy roads up Carmi and Columbia. The new barriers put up on the highway will prove important today.

The snow is supposed to taper off into the evening. The forecast for this week in Penticton is a mixed bag of snow, rain and clouds, according to Environment Canada.
