The Williams Lake Pride Society is celebrating their Rainbow Crosswalk in lakecity this weekend.
The official opening ceremony of the Rainbow Crosswalk, first put to pavement earlier this year on July 26, the Pride Society invites everyone from the community to attend Saturday at 4 p.m. Setup begins at 3:45 p.m. for any interested in getting the event ready to go.

First proposed in July, the Society was easily able to raise the funds and install the crosswalk that same month. Described as an emotional and meaningful moment for the community as a whole, its the Society’s hope that members of LGBTQ+ community will feel emboldened by the sidewalk and be able to have meaningful conversations with the larger community.
