A man who faced charges for offenses that allegedly took place in Granisle, including sexual assault, has been acquitted of all charges.
Ranning Charlie was charged with sexual assault and break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, which allegedly took place in August of 2018.

“The court concluded the prosecution had not proven the case against Mr. Charlie to the criminal standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Dan McLaughlin, a spokesperson for the BC Prosecution Service.
The name of the alleged victim has not been released.
After pleading not guilty, Charlie’s trial began on Aug. 12, 2019. He appeared in the Smithers Provincial Court via video conference on Oct. 3 before being acquitted of all charges on Jan 7.
