There has been a very unfortunate rash of graffiti across the Village over the past two days. Multiple locations including the new well house, Cumberland Community Forest signs, the gas chlorination station, and the Chinese pavilion have all been senselessly damaged.
Village Public Works crew members have been busy trying to clean up the mess. However, due to the extensiveness of the damage, graffiti removal specialists may have to be called in to assist. We are also working closely with the RCMP.
If you see vandals in the act call 9-1-1. If you want to report a suspect of graffiti or vandalism, please call the RCMP non-emergency line at 250-338-1321 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
We ask that you please report graffiti in parks, on streets, and on other public property to the Village office by calling 250-336-2291. Graffiti is a criminal offence under the Canadian Criminal Code and is also subject to a $200 ticket under the Village’s Nuisance Bylaw.
