RCMP Drug Task Force arrested a Penticton man with a substance that isn’t commonly found in the area.
Cpl. Brad Myhre said a 39-year-old man was arrested with several grams of suspected PCP (angel dust) in individual packets. On May 30 a drug search warrant was issued in the 400-block of Main Street after police arrested the man. Besides the PCP, which RCMP said is the first seizure of this substance in the South Okanagan in recent history, police officers found 36.5 ounces of marijuana, 297 Ativan pills, 120 T3 pills (with codeine) and 218 Methandrostenolone pills (steroids).
Myhre said the man was found to have a lengthy criminal record with numerous prior convictions for drug trafficking and drug possession. It is anticipated by RCMP that charges of possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking will be laid in court.
