RCMP investigate dirt bike theft from Greenwood area property

Police estimate the bikes are cumulatively worth around $30,000

Midway RCMP is investigating the theft of approximately $30,000 worth of dirt bikes from a rural property west of Greenwood.

Thieves made off with seven bikes and two generators in a padlocked Sea-Can from a home on McCarron Creek Road. sometime Saturday, Nov. 7.

Cpl. Phil Peters said the area was not under video surveillance at the time and no one saw the theft.

A forensic identification unit is working to process physical evidence left at the scene, he added.

Poice are looking for a Yamaha PW50, A Honda 50, a 2006 CRF 230, a YZ 250 F with a rubber flap on the back and with studded tires, a 2004 YZ 450 F bearing monster graphics, a 2007 WE 45 with a Baja design, a 1999 KX 500 with Baja tanks. Porcelain dragons, motorcycle parts and children’s biking gear were also taken.
