100 Mile RCMP responded to 74 complaints and calls for service during the past week.
Theft suspect nabbed here
On June 2, 100 Mile RCMP were dispatched to a series of complaints relating to a man attempting to steal from vehicles from the Lakewood Inn parking lot in 100 Mile House.
While police were attempting to locate the suspect, further calls were received about this same man being involved in thefts in the downtown area. A male matching the description provided by witnesses was located near Fourth Street in 100 Mile.
He was detained until nearby witnesses could positively identify the male as the one responsible for the thefts.
At that time, he was arrested and was subsequently remanded in custody to appear before a judge.
Charges of theft and possession of stolen property are being recommended to Crown against a 41-year-old Lower Mainland resident who has an extensive criminal record dating back to 1986.
Fuel stolen
On May 30, police received a report that during the May long weekend, 600-700 litres of fuel was stolen from a fuel storage container at the Sheridan Park Resort.
The fuel was removed from the filler hole at the top of the tank as the nozzle was still locked.

Domestic dispute
On May 29, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a 9-1-1 call for a domestic assault in the 7000 block of the 93 Mile Loop Road south of 100 Mile.
When police arrived at the residence, a man and woman could be heard arguing. Members entered the residence and secured the male suspect, as they saw a shotgun laying on the coffee table in the living room.
The loaded shotgun was secured and seized.
An assault investigation was completed at the scene and the man was lodged in cells overnight. He was released the following day on a promise to appear for court in July and conditions of having no contact with the female victim and a weapons prohibition.
Charges of assault and unsafe storage of a firearm are being recommended to Crown against a 36-year-old man who originated from the Lower Mainland.
Key fob found
On May 28, a vehicle key and electronic “fob”, which had been found in the 108 Mile Ranch area, were turned into the 100 Mile RCMP Detachment office.

On May 30 at 8:45 p.m., police were called to a structure fire in the 6400 block of Fawn Lake Road near Lone Butte.
An unoccupied cabin was completely destroyed by the fire, which was hot enough to light the surrounding trees on fire. This fire is being treated as suspicious, as it appeared that someone attempted to extinguish the fire prior to the fire department being notified.
