The Salmon Arm RCMP have seen their first driver slide off the road of the winter season, and they are reminding drivers to use increased caution.
“Slow down,” says Staff Sgt. Scott West of the Salmon Arm RCMP. “We don’t want to meet by accident.”
With the winter weather set to hit with full force this weekend, including a combination of rain, snow and freezing temperatures, West says drivers need to leave additional room between vehicles and drive with conditions in mind.
“We’ve already had our first person slide into the ditch,” says West. “If it’s look bad out and you don’t have to go out, stay home, have a hot chocolate instead.”
