Police would like individuals who are parking their vehicles overnight for an extended period of time to leave a visible note.

The Golden-Field RCMP would like to ask those who are parking their vehicles in public and private parking lots for extended periods of time, check with the property owners or leave a note visible in the dash with an expected date of return.

“We received five separate calls this week for vehicle’s that were reportedly abandoned,” said Cst. Spencer Lainchbury with the Golden-Field RCMP. “We understand that people use the lots such as the CP’s across from the 7-Eleven, the old scales, and other businesses for carpooling, but when the vehicle is left for an extended period of time others become concerned and contact police. This often results in us tying up resources unnecessarily.”

Disgruntled spouse of ex-employee allegedly causes disturbance

Police are investigating after it was alleged that a spouse of a former employee attended her former place of work, threatening the manager on May 25.

Officers are currently looking to review surveillance footage of the incident to assist them in determine what, if any, charges will be recommended.

Golden male likely to face charges

On May 27, just after midnight, police were conducting patrols downtown when they observed a male bleeding from a cut on his face. The male advised police that he had just been punched in the face by another male, sustaining serious injuries.

Police are currently investigating the incident and will likely pursue charges against the offending male, a 33 year-old from Golden.

Staff extinguish fire at 9th Ave. N. business

The Golden-Field RCMP were called to assist with a fire at a local business on 9th Avenue North, on May 27. Upon arrival police were advised that the fire had been extinguished by staff.
