On Tuesday, Sept. 6, around 5 p.m., police were advised of two vehicles that had been broken into while at Moul Falls.
Purses, cash, identification, bank cards, prescription pills, electronics and more were stolen. No witnesses or suspects have been identified to date.

Blue River transfer station
On Sept. 7, police were advised of a break-and-enter and theft at the Blue River garbage transfer station.
There was damage to the front gate and batteries were stolen.

Break and enter
Police were advised of a break-and-enter that had occurred on Harrwood Drive in Blue River.
Police attended and seized various items for FIS (Forensic Identification Section) to obtain fingerprints from in order to identify the suspect(s).

Excessive speed leads to vehicle impound
Police ticketed a B.C. male driving an Alberta vehicle that was traveling at 170 km/h in a 100 km/h speed zone near Blue River.
The male received a $483 violation ticket for excessive speed and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. Towing and storage, administrative penalty and driver’s license reinstatement fees will cost the driver another estimated $760.
Theft of lumber and tarps
Police were advised of a theft of lumber complaint north of Blue River on Highway 5. A trailer with a load of wrapped lumber was left on the side of the roadway overnight.
During that time a grey pickup truck attended the location. The occupants cut the straps and stole a lift of 2×8-8’ lumber and some tarps.

Family dispute
Police went to a trailer in a local trailer park following a report of an assault. Two family members, a father and his son, had gotten into a heated argument that led to a physical altercation.
Police separated the males for the night. There were no injuries and no charges forwarded.
Driving while prohibited
Police charged a local male for driving a vehicle while prohibited under Section 95 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
The male was released on an appearance notice for an upcoming date in Clearwater Provincial Court.
Domestic assault
Police went to a local trailer park to investigate a report of an assault. Police arrested a local female for a domestic assault. The female was released on a promise to appear in Kamloops Provincial Court in October as well as an undertaking with conditions of no contact, no alcohol and other conditions.
Clearwater Traffic Services
Clearwater RCMP Traffic Services issued two three-day immediate roadside prohibitions for alcohol during the past week. The vehicles were impounded and the drivers’ licenses seized.
Total cost for towing charges, administrative penalties and driver license reinstatement fees is estimated at $600.
Traffic Services arrested one driver along Highway 5 for possession of a controlled substance. Drugs and cash were seized, and the driver was released on a promise to appear in Clearwater Provincial Court.
Police have been busy
During the past two weeks Clearwater RCMP also investigated numerous other files (a few of them referred to below):
• Seven motor vehicle collisions, one with injuries, one with a deer in Clearwater, one with a young bear in Clearwater, and one with a bear cub in Blue River.
• 23 traffic complaints along Highway 5;
• seven false alarms; and
• three queries to locate tourists or other people to check on their well-being.
