Refuse to blow
On Feb. 12, 100 Mile Traffic Services stopped a vehicle on Highway 97 in 100 Mile House, as the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver demonstrated symptoms of being impaired by alcohol. The male driver failed the approved roadside-screening device at the scene.
He was transported to the 100 Mile House RCMP detachment offices, where he subsequently refused to provide breath samples. The driver was held in cells until sober and released with a court date in May. Charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample have been recommended to Crown against a 51-year-old resident of Kitwanga.
Out of control

The driver of the southbound vehicle was not injured. He was determined to not have a valid driver’s licence and was charged appropriately under the Motor Vehicle Act.
The damage to both vehicles is believed to be in excess of $3,000.
