September rains have brought an increase in traffic accidents to Ladysmith.
Ladysmith RCMP Staff Sergeant Greg Paske said that drivers need to be aware of changes in road conditions and adjust their driving behaviour accordingly.
“It’s been my experience that with the rain roads tend to slick up from the oils that have been there and they tend to cause problems to drivers who maybe aren’t expecting it,” he said.
Paske recommends that drivers ensure their headlights and taillights are on so other drivers can see them more easily. He also cautioned drivers to be aware of areas on the highway where water pools.
