“We are excited to launch our new, easy to use web map to the public,” said Sangita Sudan, general manager of development Services. “There was a lot of effort put into the development of this service by our GIS team at the RDCK and we are eager for the public to get an opportunity to try it out. This is an effective tool which provides zoning details and the location of community amenities, such as fire halls, parks, and community centres.”
The new mapping service provides up-to-date technology trends and advances. New features include faster draw speed, improved layer styles and labelling, pop-up information boxes, the ability to add your own data tools, options to change your background base map and timely updates of property, zoning and address changes. It will work with web browsers on both a desktop and mobile device.
RDCK geospatial service staff are available to provide some training and answer questions if needed.
