RDN offers free transit to polling stations on Oct. 21

Initiative aimed at boosting voter turnout, reducing vehicles on road

The Regional District of Nanaimo will offer free transit on federal election day, Oct. 21.

The initiative, in partnership with BC Transit, is aimed at encouraging and suppporting residents in getting to the polls to cast their ballots. This will also assist in boosting voter turnout and lessen the number of vehicles on the roadway.

Fourteen other local government partners across the province will also be offering free transit on election day.

Free transit service will be available all day for all routes throughout the Regional District of Nanaimo.

General voting day locations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Electoral Area E, Nanoose Place, 2925 Northwest Bay Rd., Nanoose
  • Electoral Area F, Bradley Centre, 975 Shearme Rd., Coombs
  • Electoral Area G, St Columba Presbyterian Church Hall, 921 Wembley Rd., Parksville
  • Electoral Area F & H, Lighthouse Community Centre (Main Hall), 240 Liones Way, Qualicum Beac
