The Regional District of Nanaimo recreation department will continue to offer camps and recreational classes during the spring break.
The regional district is actively monitoring and responding to the direction and recommendations being made by the federal government and provincial health officer regarding COVID-19.
The provincial health officer, according to an RDN press release, recommended gatherings of more than 250 people be cancelled.
What does this mean for the RDN? Spring break camps and recreational classes will continue as scheduled as the number of participants are less than 250.

Spring break camps are usually 20 people or fewer. Ravensong pool has a capacity of 160 and Oceanside Place Arena will be limited to a capacity of 250 at any one time. Gatherings with 250 or more people have been cancelled or postponed. That include hockey events and figure skating events.
RDN Transit and HandyDART buses are being sanitized daily and operating at regular service levels.

The RDN will continue to follow the directives of the health officials as the situation evolves. If RDN service levels change, the public will be notified through the RDN website, Facebook, twitter and local media.
