Chilliwack was among the many B.C. communities to see record-breaking heat on Wednesday, alongside West Vancouver, Squamish, the Sechelt area and more.
The mercury reached 32.9 degrees Celsius in Chilliwack, which was a whopping 11.2 degrees above normal, according to Roger Pannett, volunteer Chilliwack weather observer for Environment Canada.
The new record high maximum temperature for Sept. 9 edged out the previous record for that date, which had been 32.2 C set in 1963.
