Recycling depots to close in Ashcroft and Cache Creek on September 1

Both depots are closing following changes to the TNRD recycling program.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District would like to remind residents of the upcoming closure of the municipal recycling depots in both Cache Creek and Ashcroft effective Saturday, September 1, 2018.

These two recycling depots were operated in partnership between the respective villages and the TNRD. The closure of these sites comes in the wake of the TNRD’s recent partnership with Recycle BC, combined with the continuing high levels of recycling contamination at unattended depots.

As a result of the closure, the TNRD would like to remind residents of the new recycling location. The Cache Creek Transfer Station, located at the old Cache Creek landfill site, is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This site accepts all the materials previously accepted and more.

Residents are encouraged to download the TNRD Waste Wizard App from Google Play or the App Store in order to get an exhaustive list of all disposal options.
