On November 11 at 11 a.m. residents of Sooke stood for two minutes of silence to honour those who died in battle and those who are currently serving in the Armed Forces. The cenotaph at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 54 was the site of the laying of wreaths where an Honour Guard stood silent at all four corners of the memorial. A Canadian flag flew half mast and was flying with the Provincial, Union Jack and United Nations flags. The Sooke Pipes and Drums, Community Choir and a Colour Guard were present to add to the ceremony.
At the end of the formal ceremony, the assembled were invited into the Legion for beverages, food and companionship.
