North Cowichan is allowing residents to renew their dog licences online this year using a credit card.
Dog owners in the municipality have a number of choices for renewing their furry friend’s 2021 licence; online credit card payment, online or telephone banking through their financial institution, or in-person by cash, cheque or debit card. With last year’s implementation of perpetual tags, meaning the tag stays with each dog for the duration of its lifetime, residents do not need a new tag for their dogs this year, and this annual task can now be completed conveniently at home.
This is especially important considering advice from health officials to limit the number of contacts we make during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We continuously work towards better serving North Cowichan residents. Offering online credit card payments makes it easier for you to do business with the municipality, and also helps to reduce the number of vehicle trips to municipal hall,” said Mayor Al Siebring. “Being able to pay for your dog licence online this year also allows you to stay home and stay safe during the pandemic.”
Residents can look forward to more online payment methods for other municipal bills, coming soon in the New Year. Dog owners wishing to pay their 2021 dog licence online with their credit card can visit www.northcowichan.ca/payments for complete details and step-by-step instructions.
