If the Sort Toss Roll waste bins are too big for some people and too small for some families, the City of Nanaimo has some solutions.
Cart exchanges are free during November for north and south Nanaimo residents newer to the Sort Toss Roll automated garbage system.
According to a press release, the city will offer free upsizing or downsizing of carts to residents in those areas until Nov. 30.
Residents who choose to upsize their black garbage cart will see a $100 increase to their user rates to cover tipping fees at the Regional District of Nanaimo Landfill.
Green carts cannot be upsized.
The city press release notes that multi-family residences can choose to split their larger bins into sets of smaller bins for each unit.
