The return to school and work after summer holidays will include traffic disruptions on a busy Vernon road.
The City of Vernon will resurface Silver Star Road, from Pleasant Valley to L&A roads, beginning Sept. 4.
“The project is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete,” said
Mark Dowhaniuk, the city’s infrastructure engineer.
During construction, there will be single-lane traffic with flagging personnel directing traffic. The hours of construction will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
“Although every reasonable effort will be made to minimize the impact of the construction operation, delays will be unavoidable,” said Dowhaniuk
“The city is asking for the public’s patience and co-operation during construction to assist with the orderly completion of this project.”
Silver Star Road has been torn up since late June for improvements to the road and infrastructure.
