Ridge Flames win barn burner in Mission

Local jr. B team rebounds after second loss of the season.

The Ridge Meadows Flames, a night after dropping just their second game of the young junior B season, rebounded Saturday with a  barn-burner victory over the Mission City Outlaws.

The Flames led 2-1 after the first period and 5-2 after the second, and held on for a 7-6 win in Mission.

Bradley Crompton had two goals and an assist for Ridge, which outshot the Outlaws 44-22 – including 21-5 in the opening frame.

Ryan Wellburn, Brandon Gailbraith, Alexandre Furlan and Ryan MacDonald also scored for the Flames, while Paul Turek earned the win in net.

The Flames, first in the Harold Brittain Conference, dropped their second game of the season Friday at home, 5-2 to the Delta Ice Hawks.

Delta scored three times in the second period to take a 4-1 lead, then added a power play marker in the third.

Andrew Strelezki and Crompton scored for Ridge, now 9-2 and first overall in the PJHL.

Turek stopped 27 of 32 shots before being lifted for affiliate goalie Chad Cromar.
