A week after the River Valley Trail between Comer Street and Frizzi Road was closed due to cougar sightings, it has been re-opened for recreational use.
“As always, please continue to use caution when in the River Valley and be aware of wildlife in the area,” the city said in a press release, noting the Conservation Officer Service had advised closing the trail on Feb. 22.
For more information or to report a cougar sighting, please contact the Conservation Officer at 250-398-4563, or Gary Muraca, Director of Municipal Services, at 250-392-1783.
