Drivers will want to avoid Cook Street between Maplewood Drive and Quadra Street for the next six months as sidewalks and underground piping are installed.
The street will be open to local traffic only until spring 2015 while sewer, drain and water pipes are replaced and 870 metres of new curbs, sidewalks, gutters, painted bike lanes and landscaping are installed. Drivers are advised to take Finlayson Street or Cedar Hill Road to avoid delays during construction.
Brunnell Construction Ltd. was awarded the $4.8-million municipal contract last month.
