Two males are charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and break and enter of a Grand Forks residence.

Robber gets stabbed

On Nov. 30 at 9:58 p.m., a report was received about two males dressed in black with batons at a residence on Third Street in Grand Forks.

“The males had broken into the residence and were demanding money,” said Cpl. Richard Lanz. “The males started hitting the homeowner. The homeowner then grabbed a knife and one male was stabbed. The male was taken to the hospital.”

Lanz said that as a result of the investigation, the two males were arrested.

“The two males were charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and break and enter,” he said. “They are set to appear in court at a later date.”

Both men are from Grand Forks and are 34 and 21 years of age. The homeowner was not charged.

Shoplifter known to police

On Dec. 3 at 4:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a shoplifter from Fields Store on Central Avenue in Grand Forks.

“A female came into the store and asked about the prices of a few items,” said Lanz. “The female then turned around and departed the store without paying for the items.”

The suspect is known to police. At this time, the matter is still being investigated.

Single vehicle collision

On Dec. 4 at 8:35 p.m. police responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 3 by Super Save Gas.

“A transport truck attempted to make a U-turn in front of Super Save Gas and ended up going in the ditch,” said Lanz. “As a result, a towing company attended and pulled the truck out of the ditch.”

The truck driver, a 58-year-old male from Abbotsford, received a violation ticket for making an unsafe U-turn.

Driving with no insurance

On Dec. 5 at 12:43 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on 73rd Avenue in Grand Forks.

“The vehicle had no insurance,” said Lanz. “As a result of this stop, drugs were located in the vehicle. One of the drugs located was fentanyl.”

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old male from Grand Forks, was released from custody to appear in custody at a later date. He was issued a violation ticket for having no valid insurance.

Male arrested on unendorsed warrant

On Dec. 5 at 9:18 a.m., a male was arrested at Christina Lake on an unendorsed warrant from Delta, B.C.

“As a result of this arrest it was determined this male was breaching his condition of having to reside in Delta,” said Lanz. “He was arrested and charged with breaching his court conditions.”

The male is a 58-year-old Delta resident.
