There was swift justice for the man who robbed a Vernon drug store Wednesday night.
Fabian Twain Hopkins, 34, of no fixed address, entered a guilty plea to one count of robbery in Vernon Provincial Court Thursday in connection with a theft from a drug store in the Fruit Union Plaza Wednesday night.
Hopkins was sentenced to three years in jail for the robbery, given a lifetime firearms prohibition and ordered to provide a DNA sample.
He was sentenced to another 30 days concurrent for a breach of conditions stemming from a Golden matter.
A stay of proceedings was entered by Crown counsel on a charge of obstruction.
Hopkins entered the drug store and, according to police, made threats to staff. He left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
The robbery was reported by an on-duty pharmacist to RCMP at 8:30 p.m.
Two hours later, city bylaw officers noticed a man matching a description of the robbery suspect. Police were alerted and a suspect was arrested in the area of 39th Street and 24th Avenue.
