A piece of playground equipment has been stolen from Lions Ventureland Playground in Parksville Community Park, according to a City of Parksville Facebook post.

The equipment, a rideable rocking turtle, went missing over the weekend, the city announced on Thursday, Aug. 8.

It was reported missing Monday, Aug. 6 after a park inspection, said Michael Garland wiht the Lions club. He added that “it was stated that it was broken off at the base.”

“The cost for the Parksville Lions and/or the city to replace is about $1,200 plus shipping and installation,” according to the city’s Facebook post.

The city is asking that, if anyone should see the piece of equipment, they let the city know either through Facebook (www.facebook.com/cityparksville/) or by calling the city (250-248-6144).

“Please, this isn’t about blaming anyone or any one group, we just would like folks to know it has been stolen,” finishes the post.
