Rotarians from the Qualicum Beach Sunrise Club served up another hot breakfast for the homeless in Parksville at the Parksville Legion lot behind Arbutus Church on Saturday.

This was the second time the Rotarians have held the event and despite rain in the forecast, none fell during the food service.

Warm weather socks, toques and mittens were also given out on an ‘as-needed’ basis.

“We are now entering the cold and wet of winter where the disadvantaged are more vulnerable to serious illness from the elements,” said public relations director Mike Haas. “Our goal is to assist in getting those in need through this difficult period.”

Manna Homeless Society was also at the site and provided health care services to those in need.
