Saanich residents along with others will have a chance to participate in several open houses next week as BC Transit continues to review and improve service levels.
The open houses are part and parcel of ongoing updates to the local area transit plans for the Burnside-Tillicum area and Jubilee area (minus the University of Victoria). Each of the two areas will host four open houses. Residents living in the Burnside-Tillicum area can attend an open house Wednesday, March 13 at Camosun College Interurban campus (Huber Annex) from 9 a.m to noon, Thursday, March 14 at Victoria General Hospital from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Thursday, March 14, at Tillicum Shopping Centre from 4 to 7 p.m.

According to a release from BC Transit, changes under consideration in the Jubilee and Burnside/Tillicum areas include improvements to local transit routes, implementation of new routes to service local areas, and realigning existing routes to increase service efficiency
BC Transit said feedback gathered through these public consultations will help the Victoria Regional Transit Commission help improve existing services and identify future service needs.
Residents unable to attend these very open houses can also submit their feedback online.
Three local area plans covering James Bay, the University of Victoria and the Westshore are already complete.
Three other area plans — Sooke, Esquimalt-View Royal and Broadmead-Cordova Bay — are also currently underway.
BC Transit also plans to launch reviews for Uptown and the (Saanich) Peninsula.
