In the last successful round many people voted hundreds, even thousands, of times in the two-day voting period. The outcome into the top two finalists is entirely based on the number of votes.
There are two ways to vote:
Online at http://krafthockeyville.cbc.ca or by phone at 1-866-533-8066.
The Shaw Centre is now pitted against the Medican Multi-plex in Sylvan Lake, Alta. for the western berth into the finals. The eastern selections include the Credit Union Centre in Kingston, N.S. the Bedeque & Area Recreation Centre in Central Bedeque, P.E.I.
The four communities announced on Saturday are guaranteed at least $50,000 for arena upgrades.
The 12 that did not make the cut in the first round of voting won’t go away empty-handed; they all get $25,000 for arena upgrades.
The communities that survive this second round of voting, which opened tonight and ends on Monday at 9 p.m., will whittle the field down to the final two entries, one from the east and one from the west.
Those two remaining communities are guaranteed $100,000, and will continue to be in the running for the overall crown, which will net the winner a visit from CBC, a preseason NHL game and the title of Kraft Hockeyville for the year.
