This has to be one from the ‘truth-is-stranger-than-fiction’ file. Or perhaps the ‘you-can’t-make-this-stuff-up’ department.
In Tuesday’s paper, we reported that Oceanside RCMP had arrested a 34-year-old Nanoose Bay woman Jan. 3 after finding her hiding under a blanket in a van police pulled over in Qualicum Beach.
Police said the woman had nine outstanding arrest warrants and a court-imposed order not to be in contact with the driver of the van. Read Tuesday’s story here.
On Tuesday of this week, police pulled over the same van again, this time in the Coombs area.
The same woman was hiding under the same blanket.
The female was arrested again and taken before the courts to explain why she refuses to abide by her court imposed condition.
“I’m all for carpooling, but this woman really should consider catching a ride from someone else,” said Cpl. Jesse Foreman.
