Penticton firefighters, along with the Revelstoke forestry crew city works staff, spend Sunday (May 28) sandbagging Red Wing Resort on the west side of Okanagan Lake to protect the homes from rising waters on the lake. At least two homes have water up to their decks and pumps are pumping excess water onto the roads in front of the homes.
Environment Canada reports Okanagan Lake reached 343.06 at 6 a.m. on May 28, a one-centimetre rise since May 27 at 11:25 a.m. when the lake level was reported as 343.05 m.
