Kehar Garry Sangha will appear in court in Duncan on May 16 to determine a date for the continuation of his bail hearing.
Sangha has pleaded not guilty to nine charges related to a case in which a woman is alleged to have been held and beaten in a Cowichan Valley home over a three-day period last month.
Sangha, who remains in custody after his arrest on April 12, is charged with nine counts, including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and unlawful confinement or imprisonment.
The bail hearing for Sangha began at the Duncan Courthouse on May 2 and was originally scheduled to resume on May 9, but more information was needed.
Sangha will not be physically present for his next court appearance on May 16, but will appear either by video or phone.
Officers responded to a 911 call on April 11, finding a woman in need of medical assistance.
Sangha was taken into custody the next day.
RCMP officers spent April 13 searching a property on Stamps Road, where the woman said she was held, for evidence.
