Santa Claus will be taking to the streets of Sparwood on Dec. 16 and Dec. 17, weaving through the district alongside a special holiday convoy.
“We know that this year things are different, and it is really important to Mayor and Council to still provide the children and community with something to look forward to,” said Sparwood Mayor David Wilks.
“We are very excited to be joining Santa on his visit to Sparwood and, as always, we remind residents to respect all health and safety orders.”
Though gathering on the streets is not permitted this year, residents are encouraged to watch the convoy pass from windows or doorsteps, as Santa will toss children treats from a safe distance.
Kicking off his journey through town, Santa will be visiting the Lower Sparwood area on Dec. 16, starting at Fire Hall 1 at 6:30 p.m. and cruising towards upper Sparwood and Lilac Terrace, wrapping up at Mountain View Mobile Home Park.
Santa will continue his journey on Dec. 17 beginning at Fire Hall 2 at 6:30 p.m., moseying through Sparwood Heights, Whisky Jack, the Elk Valley Mobile Home Park, and finishing at Spardell and Michel Creek Road.
